  • After the uninstall of the Endpoint Security VPN client, the Windows PC no longer shows any output from ipconfig, even though the Network Adapters are shown in Device Manager.
  • Windows PC can no longer access the network.
  • Output of driverquery /v /FO list still shows Check Point driver installed.

During the uninstall process, there is another security software on the device that is restricting/revoking permission to complete the uninstall process of the involved drivers and registry keys:

Uninstalling...

Failed to uninstall AC30BFB5-834B-46d2-B912-6CE71684EB2D.
InstallAddiotionalFile: Failed to delete C:WINDOWSsystem32DRIVERSvsconfig.xml: 2
return value: 80070005

This is not a Check Point issue.

Error code 80070005 is a notice of a permission issue.

Another security software is restricting or revoking privileges to uninstall and/or alter registry keys.

Consulting the additional software vendor is the best solution.

Check Drivers License Points

During a DUI checkpoint, law enforcement can only do what the law permits them to do. This generally involves running a background check for warrants, verifying that you have a valid driver’s license, and whether you are under the influence of alcohol (or some other substance) such that you are not in a condition to drive. A sobriety checkpoint is a predetermined location at which. Law enforcement officers stop vehicles at a predetermined location to check whether the driver is impaired. They either stop every vehicle or stop vehicles at some regular interval, such as every third or tenth vehicle. The purpose of checkpoints is to deter driving after drinking by increasing the perceived risk of arrest.
